Alan Kranczoch is AK Racing's owner, chief mechanic and engine builder. His vast experience and knowledge of high performance marine and automotive engine design is an integral part of the high quality services offered by AK Racing.
Ever since his first taste of competition at age 9, racing go-karts, Al has known that he wanted to be a race car driver. Throughout his, almost 20 years of drag racing experience, Al has raced in the competitive Street Class and Sportsman Class, never losing sight of his goal of racing in Professional Class. Al is a certified mechanic and certified welder by trade. He manufactured chassis and winning engine-powertrain combinations for his, as well as, other race teams. Al held the Crew Chief position for numerous racing competitions.
Some of Al's accomplishments include Event Winner (field of 8) at the August '93 Cayuga Motorsport Park Labour Day Weekend Spectacular, and in July '93 a finalist (field of 16) at the Edgewater Motorsport Park Division 3 Meet, as well as, numerous match race wins (36 wins of 53 starts).
Al founded AK Racing Engines and Quarter Mile Promotions Inc. in 1990. He was the owner and Crew Chief of the Nitro Funny Car Team, which competed successfully in numerous Motorsport events.
Currently Al has focused his efforts on channeling his expertise through AK Racing's marine and auto service offerings.
